The
winning entry
MY
MUM
Doing her thing, all day long,
Washing those socks that don't half pong.
Mowing the lawn, clipping the hedge,
Dusting even the furthest up ledge.
Still finding time to love and hug,
And give my hair one last tug.
She's a chocolate monster, can't get enough,
Giving it up was really tough!
She's my Mum, Queen of Ages,
Locks the bad things in their cages.
Smiles her smile, winks her wink,
In my chain she's the vital link!

Runners
up
MOTHER'S
DAY!
Blonde curly hair
Clever not dumb
Tight jeans and heels
This is my Mum
Bright red lipstick
A smile like the sun
Looking in the mirror
This is my Mum
Glass of wine in one hand
Bar
of chocolate in the other
Shouting at the football
This is my Mother
Friendly and gorgeous
There is no other
Kind and loving
This is my Mother
She's joyful and funny
Caring and merry
I love her to pieces
And she's my mummy!

MUMMY
Mummy
mummy I love your tummy
I love your bottom too
Although you try it
You cannot diet
I love you because you are you
by 5 year old Georgina Burrin
from Corley Moor, Warwickshire
(written for her mother who's always dieting without great
success, says Georgina!)

Now
here's some of the many other poems we received - thanks
to all our your viewers who sent their work in.
MY MUM
My mum is an angel dropped out of the sky,
She was kissed by God as she passed by
Then, of course, was added love for all,
No matter how short and no matter how tall.
She looks after people and gives them her joy,
Whether it be a girl or whether it be a boy.
But I love her best cause when I call her she'll come,
So, in my opinion, she's the world's very best mum!!!

My
Mom
My mom is full of love
She is as gentle as a dove
I am so lucky that my mom is my mom,
I dont know where God brought her from.
It must be heaven
Where she is from
Loving and angelic
She is my number one
I love my mom
With all my heart
Of course I hope
Well never part.

Mom?
Have you sorted out my bag?
Is dinner ready yet?
Did you get my new trainers?
Is that strawberry jelly set?
May I have another biscuit?
Have I enough time for T.V?
Are you wearing that jumper
Because I'm sure it would look nice on me!
I know I always have a question,
In an invisible sack
But I do know this answer
You'll always love me back.
