This
is a live view of Norwich's Market Place viewed from the roof of
City Hall. At the time of the Norman Conquest in 1066, Norwich was
one of the most important boroughs in the kingdom.
The
Normans moved the city's market from Tombland to its current location
where it remains a main area of trading in the city. In the distance
you can see Norwich Castle.
In the distance towards the left of the picture you can see Norwich
Cathedral, towards the right is Norwich Castle.
It's
this window on the world picture which provides the backdrop to
the new BBC Look East set. If you see a test card, it means the
camera is temporarily off-line.
