Born
in Oxfordshire in 1974, Julie studied Broadcast Journalism at Nottingham
Trent University before joining BBC Radio Nottingham as a newsroom
assistant in 1992.
She
worked in a number of different roles at BBC Radio Nottingham, including
programme presentation, before moving to television in 1997 as picture
editor and planner for BBC East Midlands Today - based in its Leicester
office.
During
this time Julie also stood in as BBC East Midlands Today's weather
forecaster.
This
included fronting the weekly what's on guide, Roving Reinger. She
also worked on other features for the programme such as Gardens
Galore, Dream Jobs and Crazy Collectors.
Julie
briefly returned to the BBC East Midlands Today Leicester planning
desk before joining the BBC's regional news programme for the Eastern
Counties, BBC Look East, as its full-time weather presenter.
She
started work on the programme, which is based in Norwich, in February
1999. As well as doing lunch time and nightly forecasts for BBC
Look East, Julie also presents weather bulletins for six BBC Local
Radio stations in the area - BBC Essex, BBC Three Counties Radio,
BBC Radio Norfolk, BBC Radio Suffolk, BBC Radio Cambridgeshire and
BBC Radio Northampton.
