Kirk is the new breakfast presenter for BBC Look East. Jenny was
born in Northampton, but moved to Rugby, Warwickshire, when she
was young, also attending school there.
studying English at Sheffield Hallam University, Jenny went on to
do a PGCE teaching qualification in English and Drama at Warwick
early career began when she became a secondary school teacher in
two years, she decided to jet off to Prague, in the Czech Republic,
to teach Czech business people how to speak English.
was while in Prague that Jenny got the bug for presenting. She started
out doing work experience for Radio Free Europe, and since then
she has never looked back!
her return, Jenny went into commercial radio, becoming a reporter
and presenter with a radio station in Essex. She then worked as
a news editor for stations in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.
moving to Norfolk Jenny lived and worked on Jersey in the Channel
Islands for two years, presenting the half-hour local news programmes
for ITV as well as doing some reporting.
is Jenny's first job working at the BBC and she is extremely happy
to be returning to her roots and the world of real news.
has so many affiliations and memories of the region and says it
feels like she is returning home.
well as presenting Breakfast for BBC Look East, Jenny has also been
presenting lunch time bulletins and outside broadcasts.
of work, Jenny enjoys playing the guitar and singing, watching live
music and spending time with friends. She also enjoys anything 'outdoorsy'
including kayaking, boogie boarding, cycling and camping.

How do you spend your leisure time? I play the guitar and
sing (occasionally in public), do outward bound activities, camping,
adventure holidays, travelling as well as dreaming up ridiculous
ways to spend my time and money and that of my friends too!
you’d most like to be trapped in a lift with? Johnny Depp for
Person you’d least like to be trapped in a lift with? No
one person, just anyone with body odour.
character: I've got more similarities with Bridget Jones than
a cartoon character.
