Following
the success of BBC Essex’s Ring around Carers Campaign last
year, BBC Essex Helpline has now formed a unique partnership
with Essex County Council to set up "Essex Carers Connect".
Essex Carers Connect links carers with other carers on the
phone once a week for a chat.
If your are an unpaid carer, caring full time or part time,
or may be you are a young carer or indeed a bereaved carer,
these groups are for you.
We are offering you an hour each week on the phone for six
months, the calls are completely free and confidential and
you don’t have to leave your home, you can chat with other
people in similar positions to yourself, you can share experiences
and talk about anything you want to - last year the groups
became a lifeline to so many people.
The
groups are being funded by Essex Social Services, if you are
a carer who comes under the remit of Essex County Council,
why not give Angela Lodge the Co-Ordinator / Presenter of
BBC Helpline a call and she will write to you with all the
details. 01245 348348 or email essex.helpline@bbc.co.uk
