Back
in the UK I moved to Merseyside where I reported and presented
for Granada's "This Morning" (attempted running commentary while
wing-walking - failed dramatically).

Then
it was Border television in Cumbria (attempted to climb Helvellyn
and failed before halfway up) and then to Central Television in
Nottingham where I spent 8 years as a reporter/presenter (attempted
to report live from a variety of locations - mixed results) before
joining the BBC.
As a mum of two young children I've a vested interest in both education
and family issues (and effective stain removal).
I seem to pick up the best stories at the school gates, but I should
point out that I rely on viewers and listeners to contact me if
they have a story they think should be reported.
Meanwhile I'd be grateful for tips on how to be the perfect parent
since I continue to fail spectacularly at that :)
