Presenter Profiles - Mel Coles

I'm a truly local girl, born, mainly bred and educated in the East Midlands and now living in the same village as my parents (which is very handy for Sunday dinners).

I have a degree in Contemporary Art and a post graduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism.

Having spent several years in radio, I went on to become a video journalist before joining East Midlands Today last September.

I must try not to do too many animal stories as I seem to always come away with another addition to my menagerie.
Mel Coles

We currently have two house rabbits, Paddy and Poppet, and Tiggy the cat who has featured on both Radio Nottingham and East Midlands Today.

If you want to contact me: send an e-mail to mel.coles@bbc.co.uk
