Know someone who has worked tirelessly for sport in but never gets the glory? Nominate him or her now for our Unsung Hero award.
We're ready to honour the the people who've contributed most to sport across the East Midlands in 2006.
This year's Sports Awards will take place at the Assembly Rooms in Derby on Monday, 27 November 2006.
Last year, Nottinghamshire school caretaker, Bill Chambers,63, won the BBC Sports Unsung Hero Award. Bill works at the Elms School in Saint Ann's where he organises after-school clubs and runs a youth football team.
We're looking for someone who...
- Is a volunteer and makes a difference to sport in the East Midlands - giving up their time and talents to enable others to participate in the sport in question. This may be in helping an individual, group, team or teams. This sport can be at any level.
- Gains no financial reward for their time and effort
- Must be aged 16 years or over.
The county winners from Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire will be guests of honour at the Sports Awards.
The East Midlands winner will also be lucky enough to attend the highly exclusive after show party, where they'll rub shoulders with the world's greatest sports stars.
