Park, Leicester - August 9th
It's
summer in the city on August 9. East Midlands Today heads for the
Abbey
Park Music Festival, held yearly in the heart of Leicester.
"This
is a fantastic event," says Dominic
Heale. "It's in its 13th year now and has grown into one of
the most popular music events in the East Midlands.

"For
innovative pop and world music, you'd have to go a long way to
beat it.
"And
we love the idea of taking our show on the road and into the vibrant
heart of one of our cities."
The
EMT team will be following the final build-up to the weekend festival
and getting a taste of the attractions to come.
The
festival will also see the BBC
Music Live stage in action again, featuring some of the best
music championed by the BBC's Leicester website and BBC
Radio Leicester.
The
team will be also be taking a look at a major exhibition opening
in Leicester to look at Asian life and culture in the city.
And
this weekend sees a crucial landmark in the life of Leicester.
Leicester
City Football Club will play their first game at the club's
magnificent new stadium.
As
part of the Leicester summer special the sports team plan to be
there to see how the Foxes are settling into their new home - and
how they are facing up to life in the First Division.
Anne
will be presenting another installment in her motoring series, sampling
soft-top luxury.
There'll
also be all the day's regional news and the daily weather forecast
with Sara Blizzard.
