XX Teens are five young men from London who have just finished their debut long-player, Welcome To Goon Island. The 12-track album, produced by Sheffield’s Ross Orton (MIA, Fat Truckers, Bromheads Jacket) is set to be released through Mute in late July.
Now with an average age of twenty-one Wild Beasts started when they were just eighteen. The band deliberately sought to distance themselves from what they assumed was the norm. Shimmering and widescreen, 'Limbo, Panto', their debut album, is a confident record brimming with the band’s sense of purpose.
Rodney Smith was born and grew up in Stockwell, South London. He debuted as Roots Manuva in 1996 and by 2001 his album “Run Come Save Me” gained him a Mercury Music Prize nomination and sold over 100,000 copies in the UK. His new album "Slime and Reason" will be out this August.
