BBC New Music Shorts 2008

Labels

Record companies Domino, Ninja Tune/Big Dada and Mute Records have each provided tracks from their most promising new artists to act as inspiration. Warp Films will be working alongside our winners to help them produce their new music shorts.

Ninja Tune / Big Dada

Big Dada LogoNinja Tune is the independent record label created in 1990 by Coldcut as a vehicle to release music of an underground nature, free from the restraints placed on artists by major labels.

The label's rostra includes Mr Scruff, Bonobo, Hexstatic and Kid Koala and is known for its innovative music promos which it has released as ZenTV collections on DVD.

Big Dada is a British based Black music label, releasing records from around the world by artists such as Roots Manuva, New Flesh, Ty, Diplo, MF Doom, Infinite Livez and Wiley amongst many others.

The Big Dada remit has always been to release records with artistic integrity, to the widest possible audience and in the highest quality fashion.
