Description:	Glass is the main industry, with a large works at Amblecote, which is also home to much new private housing. There is a low proportion of council-rented accommodation and below average unemployment, suggesting reasons for the previous Tory election successes. Stourbridge really marks the western extent of the West Midlands conurbation and the countryside of Worcestershire is tantalisingly close, making the town a draw for the Tory voters of nearby more urban areas.
