John Hume

The SDLP, the main Nationalist party in Northern Ireland, attracts support from much of Northern Ireland's Catholic community and aspires towards a constitutionally achieved united Ireland. The Party was founded in 1970.

Aggregating the vote for the General, European and local elections the Party received a share of 24.8%. At the elections for the Northern Ireland Forum, the party received 21.37% of the vote, giving them 21 seats.
