The Maths File Game Show with your ancient mathematical hosts Hypatia & Pythagoras
Hypatia was the first female mathematician/philosopher to be noted in history. She lived in Alexandria, in Egypt in 370 b.c. and produced work on arithmetic and algebra. Pythagoras was a Greek mathematician who lived in southern Italy in the late sixth century BC. You may have heard of his famous theorem at school. It enables you to work out the longest side of a right-hand triangle by working out the square (multiplying a number by itself) of the two shorter sides and adding them together. Choose a site area:
