Ronda
Inka travels to Ronda in style - on the Al-Andalus express, a luxurious way to visit the major cities of the South - Granada, Córdoba and Sevilla and of course, Ronda. Passengers sleep and eat in beautifully restored carriages dating back to the 1920s.
The town of Ronda has a stunning location on top of a mountain ridge, straddling a gorge 130m deep. One of the lesser-known attractions is the Casa de Mondragón - probably the palace of Moorish kings in Ronda and now a museum. The bullring is one of the oldest in Spain.
Inka gets a bird's eye view from a hot-air balloon, in the company of Graham Elson, who runs sightseeing trips for tourists in the area. He regrets the fact that the many British tourists who come to the Costa del Sol don't visit the interior so miss out on these sights.
Her last stop is Castellar de la Frontera, a picturesque village situated inside a castle which was once on the border between the Moors and the Christians. Dating from the thirteenth century, the village retains its traditional character and today houses a thriving community of craftsmen.
