Classroom Ideas

Can be used to help pupils measure area correctly and work out how the same areas can look different. After watching the clip, pupils can be given a sheet with various squares and rectangles drawn on along with their lengths and widths. They can then be instructed to calculate the areas of each and colour in a particular colour all of those that are the same area. This will help pupils to visualise how areas can be the same but still look different depending on their length and width.
