An investigation into the use of fossil fuels and their impact on the environment. Most of the energy we use in Britain comes from fossil fuels. Oil, gas and coal are burned to give us energy. This also produces carbon dioxide and sulphurous and nitrous oxides that can lead to air pollution and acid rain.

The clip can be used for introduce or revise the topic of fossil fuels. Students could investigate the formation of these fuels and how we use them. Discuss the impact that carbon dioxide and other compounds created through the burning of fossil fuels have on local and global environments.
