Can be used to explore how poets use form, structure and language to express ideas and attitudes. The themes can be identified either from a reading or prior work exploring the background of the poem. Students can then work through the poem thinking how they would dramatise this for the screen (using storyboards if helpful), working on the number of shots (for structure) and the composition of those shots (for imagery). They can then compare their own analysis with the clip, assessing the decisions the director has made and what meanings are expressed through them.
