Classroom Ideas

This clip can be used to introduce the events of Easter week, specifically Palm Sunday. Not all children will be familiar with the name of Palm Sunday, and the clip might help them either recall or suggest the name. The teacher needs to ensure that some key words are understood, such as miracle, disciple and Passover. Children might discuss why people were prepared to 'put the red carpet out' for Jesus and what they expected of him. Who are their heroes and how might they welcome them if they came to our town? They could make their own storyboard of the events described.
