Having a voice on children's rights has been a great experience for the young people on the Northern Ireland Children's Commissioner's Youth Panel. The teenagers express their unhappiness with the media's negative portrayal of young people, but they’re working hard to make a different voice heard.

Classroom Ideas

The class could debate whether or not decision making should be left to adults. What changes might younger people make to the way our society is organised? Students could brainstorm the things they would do if they were in charge for a year, and then reduce their ideas to the most achievable aims. What impact would these have on the rest of society?
