Classroom Ideas

Before watching the clip, children could be asked to discuss their own ideas about how to reduce traffic congestion. They could think about what positive impacts there would be on the environment if there were less cars on the road. They could also consider the negative impacts there could be. After watching the clip, children could be split into groups and each group tasked with promoting their idea of how to reduce traffic congestion. The children could be told that the local council will only choose one idea to implement for the local town and they will choose the idea which has been presented the best. Childen could go away and produce posters or letters and come up with brand names and adverts, all promoting their idea of how to reduce traffic congestion. These could then be presented to the class or another class and a vote taken on the best idea.
