Classroom Ideas

Pupils could research the Scandinavian countries to find out about the landscape and the weather. They could discuss reasons why the Vikings may have wanted to leave these countries or to return to them. Looking at a picture of a Viking man and woman, do their clothes help us to know what the weather was like and where they came from? Pupils could think about how hard it would be to row a boat so far or they could make their own Viking model boat.
