Schoolchildren take turns presenting factfiles on different urban birds - the blackbird, starling, house sparrow, carrion crow and blue tit are all described.

When studying animals in the local environment, children could go bird spotting with binoculars to see if they can identify some of these birds. After watching this clip, children may conduct a matching activity to identify what each bird eats. Using factfile templates, children may make their own factfiles on minibeasts and present their information to their classmates.
