Description

Chinese musician Winnie Wong shows how the guzheng or Chinese zither has developed from a simple folk instrument, into the concert instrument of today. From the mid 19th century, the guzheng has gradually developed as a solo instrument. Players have introduced new performance techniques such as using the left hand as accompaniment to the right hand melody, bending and vibrato.
