Classroom Ideas

As well as being a useful resource when studying Act 5 as a literary text, this extract could be used to look at features such as voiceover and transitions as well as staging, lighting, camera angle and other effects. Can be used as a unique insight into the murderer's mind. Students could write the Doctor's medical case file on the mental health of Macbeth, using Macbeth's soliloquy and his own conversations with Macbeth as evidence. What diagnoses would students come up with for Macbeth and what would they advise the authorities to do with him? How could this case help educate people about what drives people to murder and how the murderer can go on murdering? The Doctor must make his or her recommendations to the authorities.
