Classroom Ideas

The clip shows a practical example of filtering solids and liquids. It would be useful to play when learning about the separation of mixtures of materials. Can be used when learning about general recycling and responsible disposal of rubbish. It could lead to discussions on the sorting and disposal of materials. The clip could be used prior to work about properties of materials and techniques that could be used to separate mixtures of them such as filtration. It could also be used to stimulate designs for alternative machines and be linked with a literacy topic such as 'The Iron Man'.
