After watching the clip, children could discuss why people immigrate to other countries. The children could think about the advantages of people immigrating to other countries (different cultural influences, people with different skills) and they could also think about the negative influence immigration could have on an area. Children could then look at their own local area, or classroom, and look at the influences they see every day that have come from immigration, either in food, clothes, language (particular words). They could sort items that they have found and trace them back to their country of origin. This could be presented on a blank map, with the item drawn in the country it came from or presented as a poster.
