Classroom Ideas

Once the clip is watched, children could be given a made up map with grid references on it. Each table in the class is laid out with a large scale version of this map. In small groups the children must read out each emergency call and decide what route is best for them to take to reach all distressed people and where is maybe best to land their helicopter each time, using the contour lines to aid this. Each emergency call will supply grid reference except one which will only give half a grid reference and a description of the terrain.
