Discuss the word play and humour in the story and how this engages the audience. Could be used as a stimulus for children to write their own spoof stories. Talk about how they would need a clear understanding of the conventions of the genre before writing their humorous version. Useful for showing how story openings need to establish characters, settings and storyline.
