A new graduate from detective school takes on her first case - a primary school secretary requests help in investigating the apparent disappearance of the school's Head. The detective goes to the school and plans out how she is going to progress the investigation. The detective has difficulty remembering things, and she uses different tools to help - diary, note-taking, making a plan.

Talk about how they would need a clear understanding of the conventions of the genre before writing their humorous version.
