A version of Act 3 Scene 2 of William Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. It starts at the beginning of the scene and ends when Helena says "Fare thee well..." The scene is set in an abandoned warehouse. Lysander and Demetrius declare their love for Helena and hatred of Hermia. Helena thinks the three of them are playing a cruel trick on her. It is accompanied by music and sound effects that are used at various points of tension throughout.

Classroom Ideas

This dramatisation of the first part of Act 3 Scene 2 presents an arguably serious interpretation. The use of a contemporary setting and costuming could be a useful focus for discussion of effectiveness. Students could offer their ideas for alternative ways of setting and costuming this scene, with reasons for their choices.
