Classroom Ideas

This is an opportunity for pupils to learn about families of instruments in the standard orchestra. Draw a blank chart, outlining where each group is situated based on the graphic overlay used in the clip. Pupils could now draw the instruments of the orchestra (or cut out pictures) onto pieces of stout card. Allow the pupils to stick these cards in the correct position on the chart. If laminated, these charts can be used over and over again. Teachers that are confident with technology may be able to produce digital versions of this activity.
