Classroom Ideas

Each student can choose a percussion instrument and work on producing a short phrase, which they learn to copy exactly. Using red and yellow cards, the teacher sequences performances of pairs of phrases, so that each student gets the chance to perform with another in different combinations. Add a third coloured card to introduce more musical material. Try the cards in different combinations, sometimes involving the use of repetition.
