Classroom Ideas

The class could practise forming and joining the letters 'ee' as they chant the magic pencil's rhyme, after viewing the clip. Pupils might also enjoy exploring this handwriting pattern on a large scale during a P.E. session. Lay out skipping ropes to form a correctly joined 'ee' pattern on a big scale. One by one, the children could walk along the pattern, changing direction at the correct points, while chanting the magic pencil rhyme. (Alternatively, mark out a giant letter pattern in chalk on the playground.) Back in the classroom, pupils could again practise forming and joining the letters with paper and pencil.
