As an Indian school prepares to start its regular sex education programme, the teachers discuss gender inequality in India. Pupils discuss how they feel about gender equality, and how life can be different for men and women. When the sex education programme starts, the pupils listen intently, with a few giggles!

This clip could be used to highlight the differences in culture and education in India compared to Scotland. Following the clip, class discussion could centre on the differences of how males and females are treated within India. Consideration could be given to inequality in education and employment but issues related to political participation could also be touched upon.
The level of violent and sexual crime suffered by women in India has become a more visible issue in recent times. With sensitivity, this issue could also be covered and related to Health and Wellbeing.
