Parents in Senegal talk about the difference between children today and previous generations. They believe the children of today are less respectful, more free to do what they like, and more fearless than previous generations. They also believe they do less to help at home. We hear some children talk about what they do to help at home.

Use to stimulate a discussion around life for children in Sénégal v their own lives. It may also work as a starting point to a discussion around how much housework or chores children today are expected to do and whether or not it's fair. Lastly students could describe how children today differ from children 20, 50 or even 100 years ago. The more able students could compare the two and share when they would have prepared to grow up and why.
