Description

A group of children describe what they do when they feel angry and how these strategies help them to calm down. Some of the children are able to describe how their anger feels. A role-play illustrates that there are alternatives to letting anger take over. A 'traffic lights' system can help to think through angry moments.

Classroom Ideas

This clip could be used a stimulus for class discussion about anger and explore scenarios that make us annoyed. Children could hot seat characters in different scenarios in response to the clip and share ways to deal with anger. Could be used to support individual children and enable them to express their feelings by making comparisons with the children from the clip. Children could match emotion words or pictures to scenarios built up from discussions following on from the clip.
