BBC Children's presenter Andy remembers being very interested in sport during his school days. He was picked for a special county race and he was to run against another boy who was very fast. The race didn't go quite as he had expected and he still feels bad about it.

Classroom Ideas

Ask the class to watch the clip and talk with their partner about what the presenter had done wrong and ask them to consider what they might have done in this situation - would they have taken the medal for 1st place or would they have done something else? Both freeze frame and conscience alley can be used to explore what action the presenter may have taken following tripping the boy up. The ideas generated here can be used as a basis for the children to write an alternative ending to the event.
