Classroom Ideas

Watch the clip with the children and then split the class into three and allocate each group a part of the story, whether it be the racing yacht, steam train or rocket. Using the patterned and predictable language, the children can learn their part of the story to act out and perform. The three groups can then come together to perform the story as a whole class. Following this, the children can write their own story using the rhyme and pattern for other scenarios, for example if we had a helicopter.
