It is very important to Muslims how they live their life, since this life is preparation for the next. To reach paradise, Muslims must follow the way and teachings of Islam. Muslims must follow the Shari’ah, the path that Allah teaches in the Koran, and the Hadith, the example of the prophet Muhammad.

Classroom Ideas

Give students a range of values, such as love, fairness, peace, justice, friendship, etc. In groups, discuss which are most important in the world today. What does our world need more of? Each student can choose three that matter to them. Then watch the clip. List the values that matter to the Muslims shown and explain why they matter. Students can compare them to their own values and explain similarities and differences. What motivates Muslims to be good? What motivates your behaviour?"If everyone was a good Muslim, it would remove the need for references." Do you agree? Give reasons for your answer, showing you have considered another point of view. For further thought: When a religious believer's behaviour does not line up with their belief, what accounts for the 'gap' between the two? How might this be plugged?
