Good to introduce the importance of funding for culture and monuments in France. The teacher could use the first few seconds as a basis for a discussion on other cultural landmarks pupils might know in Paris or the rest of France. The second part of the clip is best used to revise opinions, firstly as a general comprehension to listen out for positive and negative opinions. Secondly, an extension could consist of doing a survey of how many positive or negative adjectives pupils can spot, and if they can guess their meanings. As a last activity, this would be a good starting point for a survey in the classroom, where pupils ask one another about their opinions of three different regional landmarks, and answer. The teacher could differentiate by providing pupils with a more or less detailed vocabulary list to extend the existing adjectives.
