Music video director Howard Greenhalgh brings together classical music and video. Greenhalgh takes an extract from 'St John's Passion' by Bach. He makes no reference to the original context for the music. He tries to capture what he hears as the mood and the passion of the music using contemporary imagery.

Students could reverse the activity shown in the clip. Provide a clip of short duration and a collection of extracts from a diverse range of classical music works. Ask the students to map the various music extracts against the clip and to reflect on which extracts work best and why.
