A rhythm game based on the 'Grasshopper Hop' song. The correct rhythm must be matched to the correct picture. A group of children use percussion instruments to create insect music.
You can replicate this idea in the classroom by drawing a grid on the whiteboard and sticking cut out drawings of insects into the various cells. Ask a student to play one of the patterns and the rest of the class can guess which pattern has been performed. Extend the activity to include different minibeasts and rhythm patterns. This activity could be done using a computer and simple graphics application.
