Description

There is still archaeological evidence of the Picts in Scotland, but no written records. The Picts were mainly farmers and lived on one side of the Grampian mountains. The Scotti were also farmers, but lived on the opposide side of the mountains. They also spoke a completely different language.

Classroom Ideas

This clip could form a basis for pupils to discuss chronology and place eras on timelines looking at dates and order. They could discuss the concept of tribes and whether and where tribes can be found today. Pupils may wish to question how archaeologists may come to change their minds about the past.
