Description

A report about the summer theatre festival in Almagro, la Mancha. The village's famous 16th century theatre 'Corral de Comedias' is the prime venue for performances. Two aspiring actors, students of Almagro's drama school, speak of their hopes to perform there and explain what happens during the festival.

Could be used as a stimulus for research into the theatrical traditions of Spain. Students could make a note of some of the events on offer during the weeks of the drama festival .

The class could also use a transcript of Maria’s account to complete a gap-fill exercise.

‘Hay muchos espacios escenicos, donde vienen alrededor de dos o tres compañías. Se pueden ver dinstinctas obras que tienen margen de cinco o seis días. Normalmente los espacios se llenan siempre de gente.
