If you have already sent such mail and I haven't added your site yet, I would be grateful if you could send me a reminder, since I have been snowed under with email and am afraid that your URL may have gone astray.

General Accessibility Resources

There are many sites on the web that contain useful accessibility-related resources. Here's a few of them:

  • W3C Web Accessibility Initiative - The W3C is the organisation founded by Tim Berners-Lee, who invented the Web. The Web Accessibility Initiative is the branch of the W3C that works to ensure that as much of the web as possible is accessible to all.
  • WebABLE - Webable is the best site for online accessibility resources that I have found so far.
  • UK Government Disability Site - Contains full information about the Disabilities Discrimination Act, parts of which apply to the Web as from 1st October 1999.
  • Bobby - Bobby is a free web-based tool for analysing how accessible your website is.
  • RNIB - The RNIB is there to help not only totally blind people, but also the one and a half million in the UK with serious sight problems.
  • Emacspeak - The first free screenreader.
