Douglas Pretsell suggested golf as one of the main attractions of the area as well as: "Myreton Motor Museum – extensive collection of motor vehicles from every period of automotive history, with tantalising insights into the lives of the people who owned the cars. Dirleton Castle and the charming village of Dirleton. Set in beautiful gardens, this imposing castle rises over the beautiful village of Dirleton just outside North Berwick."
Getting away from it all
Living in North Berwick it’s hard to escape the enormous presence of the law hill, but when’s the last time you gave it a climb? Is it time to brush off your boots?
From beautiful sandy beaches to craggy cliffs, North Berwick has some stunning coastline. Blow out the cobwebs with a leisurely walk along the shoreline.
The Scottish Seabird centre has some exciting exhibits, including "Big Brother" style cameras watching birds, dolphins, and – if you're lucky - whales.
Tantallon Castle makes for a fascinating day trip. The ramparts offer great views of the Bass Rock. If you make a visit, we'd love to see your photos here?
To get a closer look at the Bass Rock, and witness the thriving bird colony at first hand, hop on board one of the boat trips that regularly leave the harbour.
