Inside Out Accountability
The first thing to say is I’m not Australian, and I’m not named after a certain pop princess!
I’m actually a Northamptonshire girl. My mum read the name ‘Kylie’ in a newspaper.
Growing up, I knew I wanted to be a journalist. I found out how people I admired got into the profession and tried to follow them.
My first job was in newspapers. I then went to work at BBC Points West in Bristol and haven’t looked back. I’ve worked in few areas of the BBC as a video journalist and presenter.
Being based in the East Midlands is great – this is where I grew up and my family and dog Harry are just down the road! I get to meet all sorts of people in my job, and no two days are ever the same.
Outside work I love music and try and see as many live bands as I can. The perfect weekend is heading to a music festival - ideally one that has warm showers, hairdryers and decent loos. They do exist, but unfortunately in Japan!
I also paint and draw – particularly from life.
I have two fish – called Julie Giani (film buffs will know why) and Temporary Fish. So far at the time of writing Temporary Fish has managed to survive for three months and two weeks, despite my forgetfulness when it comes to feeding.
