Cupid in cyberspace

Video journalist Brady Haran has been exploring the world of online dating in a series for East Midlands Today, looking at the good and the bad of this increasingly popular pastime.

More and more people are turning to the Internet is search of love.

In the East Midlands alone, more than 180,000 people are using JUST ONE of the leading dating websites.

Here you can watch each episode of our three-part series, and see some extra footage not used on TV.

In part one, Brady put his personal profile on a dating website, and interviewed relationship expert Kate Taylor about why people were turning to the Internet in search of love.

In part two we explored the darker side of online dating, as a "Russian woman" started contacting Brady, then asked him for $700 in an attempted scam.

But in the final part of our series, Brady met with three couples who found love online and heard their tales.

Some extra footage from the interviews, not seen on EMT, can be viewed by clicking on the link above.
