Quentin Rayner

If you see a blue VW whizzing around the East Midlands - chances are it's got Quentin Rayner behind the wheel.

For years I've been covering the region for EMT. My brief as chief news reporter is to cover the big story of the day in the region. That means keeping an eye on the issues that affect you - and finding ways of telling the stories behind those issues.

Aside from EMT, I have worked on the Today programme; as a Westminster correspondent and a presenter on News 24. I have also had the challenge of being a producer on Newsnight.

One bonus is that I regularly get smothered in kisses. But my wife Emma doesn't mind because they're courtesy of our youngest daughter whenever I pop up on screen. When in London, I often get stopped by complete strangers.

Perhaps they think I'm John Carter from ER? But no - they've just got me confused with my identical twin brother. My immediate ambition? To get a haircut like Hugh Grant's in 'About A Boy'.
