After Peggy turned down Janine's request to be her 'Alastair Campbell', the man himself offered a few points of advice on campaigning. Campbell, who used to be chief press secretary for Tony Blair, took time out to post a video on his website.
Even though the massage parlour is the focus of Peggy's petitioning, Alastair thinks that she needs to really think about what she wants to achieve while in office. "Really think through what you want to do when you've won - what is the big issue?" he suggested.
Alastair thinks Peggy should work out what makes her special to the area and capitalise on her big personality: "You know the people of Walford as well as they know themselves", and advised her to strategise about how she is going to win the campaign.
"The other thing is, Peggy, you have to get yourself a slogan..." Alastair advises Peggy that getting some t-shirts and some leaflets and some high profile support would be a good way of getting positive attention and making sure people know your name for when they come to vote.
